Alot of people who have high paying jobs or an important job to society can let this go to their heads. I’m not saying EVERYONE in these jobs, so don’t put that in my mouht. thats why i’m saying ALOT and not ALL.
For instance, i worked in fast food for years, In our town, EMT’s would all come in at the same time when they came to eat. You would have a few that were just nice and like any other person, they talked to you, smiled at you and all that. Then the majority of the group would glare and you, snub their nose up at you and just act like you were sooooo beneath them.
Again i’m not saying all of them are like this, or just EMT’s, be it doctors, nurses, lawyers, judges, etc. Just some people let it get to their head and put themselves above everyone else. No matter how much money you have then other people, you are still very similar to them. Saving lives is amazing and very hard to do, i can only imagine the shit you have to go thru for that line of work. But some people decide instead of being humble and relate to their fellow man, they look at their fellow man as lower people.
This can go for many scenarios, i know people who used to not have alot of money, and then when they got alot of money, they became snobs. Things were beneath them, they couldn’t stand having something like hamburger helper for supper, they said it’s poor peoples food. They used to eat it and whats wrong with it? because it’s 1.50 a box at walmart it’s not good enough for you? last time i checked the price of something doesn’t always mean it’s delicious.
People without alot of money but come across a homeless person, alot of people will instantly think they are homeless just because they are an alcoholic, or they are on drugs, even just to be lazy. This is the case some times but not all the time.
I’m sure we are all guilty of thoughts like this occasionally, I know i have done it a time or two without thinking. Typically we feel bad for saying or thinking it once we do it. Some people just don’t have that bad feeling. We have to try to stop putting material things or looks, beliefs, whatever the difference and just try to get along. I know we will never have world peace with the way humanity is made, there will always be conflicts, but i believe we can get closer to peace and less into war and destruction if we cared more about those less fortunate then us.
